2D Orbital Simulator

FAQ

How does the simulation work?

The simulator uses a simplified gravitational model based on Newton's law. An object is launched from a set distance with an initial tangential velocity. The gravitational pull from a central mass then alters its trajectory in real time.

What do the colors indicate?

The orbiting object is shown in blue for a stable orbit, green when it escapes the gravitational pull, and red if it crashes into the central mass.

How can I adjust the parameters?

Use the sliders to adjust the central mass, initial distance, and tangential velocity. Any change automatically restarts the simulation to reflect the new settings.
